How to create a sticky post in Blogger / BlogSpot Blog

A sticky post means any post, that is displayed on top of all other posts, in the homepage. This can be made in two ways:
First method is quite simple...
Create the post (the one you want to be sticky) as usual, and publish it. Then immediately edit the post. Now while editing, you need not have to edit anything in the content zone, but you have to change the date of publishing - to any future date.
This can be done by expanding, the Post Options java link at the bottom (see the picture below).

NOTE: Changing of the date should be done only after publishing the post once, otherwise it will become a scheduled post.

Second Method: You can follow an other method too, by adding a "HTML/Javascript widget" above your "Posts Body" in the Layout section, then make the necessary changes in it to show the widget only in the Homepage, by following the steps given here: Show widgets in only specific pages or homepage - Blogger Help

Yup....AS it is said first impression is the last imp....so homepage(which creates the first impression) can be made beautiful with sticky/featured post...

usually the newer post will display on the main page. How about if I want to change this order, please? I mean I want to show the oldest post first in the main page

Well if your concern is about only the last post, then simply you can give a future date to it, and it'll be on the top.

BUT if you want to completely reverse the order, then you have to change all the dates, of your present posts, such that your older posts have more latest dates, and whenever you write a new post, publish it with an even older date than the oldest present post on your blog.

Failed. A sticky post is supposed to be a normal blog article that is set to remain on top of the rest of other posted articles, regardless their posting date. In other words, it is an article complete with the commenting feature; not a mere HTML widget as you mentioned above. A HTML widget does not allow visitor to put comment, let alone allowing the blog owner to edit it via the usual post editor interface. I'm not buying this. :(

Well halfey, if you have read the post then you'll see that i have already defined what a sticky post is. And havnig a "comments" form is not really necessary in a sticky post. Sometimes an important post, like informing readers about a contest can also be a sticky post, where date and comments are not necessary.
ANYWAYS, if you think comments are necessary then why don't you simply try the first method ???

And of course when you are not given any other choice in the blogging platform you are using, then you have to compromise in some of your needs :P
